Located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, The Triangle consists of the cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill and was so named after the creation of Research Triangle Park (RTP) in the late 1950's.  RTP, or The Park as we like to call it, is the largest industrial park in the country and employs over 50,000 people at more than 160 companies with a focus on bio-tech research and high-tech.  Not to be overlooked is the SAS Institute headquartered in Cary, a short drive from The Park.
